1st Annual Feed-a-Family Thanksgiving Community Service Activity

This year we decided to do something slightly different from previous Thanksgiving community service activities. We began the Hephzibah High GCSA 1st Annual Feed-a-Family Community Service Activity. Our goal is to increase the number of families we feed every year. We all wanted to affect the lives of people in our community on a more personal level.
We went to local area businesses and asked for food donations to cover the items on our menu. One of our local Bi-Lo grocery stores donated everything on our list! We were able to donate a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings – turkey, ham, vegetables, cake, pie, and drinks. Even better, everything was uncooked. The family was able to enjoy the entire Thanksgiving experience of cooking their own meal with family.
Mrs. A. Wright (our coordinator) and Roddrick Bledsoe, one of our members, delivered the groceries the day before Thanksgiving. The family, a grandmother raising her grandchildren, was very thankful.
