Moultrie Technical College Speaker

On October 28, 2009, Mrs. Mandy Moore, from Moultrie Technical College, talked with students about programs offered at MTC including their dual enrollment opportunities. Students will tour MTC on November 24.

Career Portfolios and Youth Apprenticeship

Mrs. Beth Lewis, Tift County’s Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator, talked with Career Essential students about the importance of developing career portfolio and the benefits of joining the Youth Apprenticeship Program. To join the youth apprenticeship program, students must have a good G. P. A., no tardies, and no discipline record. Mrs. Lewis told us that we could earn money while gaining experience for potential career. Mrs. Lewis also told us that a career portfolio is all about us, who we are, and what we have to offer. She also told us to keep our portfolios up to date.


Food Drive

GCSA joined FBLA in collecting items for Thanksgiving boxes. FBLA initiated a school-wide campaign and all GCSA classes donated items to help support the community and FBLA.


Judge Bill Reinhardt

Judge Reinhardt talked with students about the importance of staying in school. He told us not to base our lives on cars, houses, clothes, and money. True success is about giving and not being selfish. We were told that a high percentage of prisoners dropped out of school in the 9th or 10th grade.
